Driven by the Arab Youth Center’s belief that the most impactful policies and programs begin by listening to young people, the Center proudly presents the second edition of the Arab Youth Priorities Survey, conducted in collaboration with Ipsos. Building on the success of the first edition, the survey continues to strengthen a comprehensive Arab knowledge base that monitors young people's aspirations and evolving priorities while providing policymakers and stakeholders with reliable evidence to support the development of youth policies, strategies, and initiatives.
This edition builds on the inaugural survey launched by the Center in 2020, enabling an assessment of how the priorities of Arab youth have evolved over recent years. It also offers comparative insights into emerging trends at both the regional and national levels, reflecting the economic, social, and developmental changes experienced across the Arab world.
The second edition is based on 6,260 face-to-face interviews with young men and women aged 15–35 across 22 Arab countries, providing a comprehensive and comparable picture of the priorities of nearly 170 million young people throughout the Arab region.
The survey covers 20 priority areas spanning the different dimensions of young people's lives, including medicine and healthcare, high-quality education, family and relationships, employment opportunities, community safety, personal development, culture, entertainment, and other areas that shape the lives and future of Arab youth.
The survey aims to:
- Identify the key priorities of Arab youth and highlight the issues that matter most to them at both the regional and national levels.
- Provide reliable data and indicators that support policymakers, researchers, and institutions working in the youth sector.
- Contribute to directing policies, programs, and investments toward the real priorities of Arab youth.
- Enhance regional knowledge and understanding of the realities and aspirations of young people, supporting the development of more responsive and future-oriented policies.
- Measure changes in youth priorities compared with the first edition published in 2020.
More than a presentation of survey findings, this report offers an analytical assessment of the major shifts in the priorities of Arab youth. It highlights emerging trends and differences across Arab countries, making it a valuable knowledge resource for informing policymaking, supporting evidence-based decision-making, and guiding the design of youth initiatives and programs that are more closely aligned with the needs and aspirations of youth.
