Sharjah Media City (Shams) has welcomed a new group of participants for the seventh edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders Program, reinforcing its status as a pivotal hub for Arab media. This year’s program features 55 young men and women from 18 Arab countries, organized by the Arab Youth Center.
The initiative aligns with Shams’ commitment to empowering the next generation of media professionals, equipping them with essential skills to navigate the rapidly changing media landscape. This includes a focus on digital audio content, particularly podcasts, which have become one of the fastest-growing formats among today’s youth.
His Excellency Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, the Director General of Sharjah Media City, stated that youth are crucial for the media renaissance. He mentioned, “We at Sharjah Media City (Shams) believe that youth are the true engine of any modern media renaissance.” This perspective drives Shams to leverage its resources and projects to support and empower young talents, ensuring they have the tools needed to create innovative and sustainable Arabic content.
Al-Obad also expressed pride in hosting such an ambitious group, viewing their presence as a significant opportunity to foster future cooperation and share expertise with leading Arab media initiatives.
Participants shared their appreciation for the advanced infrastructure and integrated services at Shams, highlighting how this experience is vital for expanding their understanding and enhancing their media skills in practical and impactful ways.
