Sharjah 24: The Arabic Language Youth Council won the award for "Best Campaign to Promote Cultural Identity and the Arabic Language" at the 2024 International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah.
The award, selected unanimously by the judging panel from among dozens of competitors, recognised the council's positive impact and outstanding efforts in promoting cultural identity and the Arabic language, particularly among youth. These efforts include launching a variety of initiatives, knowledge products, and digital projects created and presented by its members, alongside participation in multiple regional and international conferences and exhibitions.
Launched in mid-2023, the "Arabic Language Youth Council" is a joint project between the "Arab Youth Centre" and the "Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre." It adds significant value to both organisations' efforts, aiming to support language initiatives with innovative, youthful ideas and to establish a foundation that reinforces young Arabs' connection to their language and identity.
The Arab Youth Centre was also honoured as a strategic partner of the forum for its contributions in engaging youth across various forum activities. This included the participation of members from the "Arab Youth Pioneers" initiative, the "Young Arab Media Leaders" programme, the "Arabic Language Youth Council," and members of the "Arab Youth Podcast Training Programme." These participants enriched the forum with their personal experiences in public speaking, the art of oratory, and the secrets of effective audience communication, in collaboration with the Deraya platform, which organised several discussion panels, workshops, and hosted speakers from other organisations.
The award is presented annually to recognise outstanding achievements in several categories, showcasing the best accomplishments and latest practices in government communication. The "Best Campaign to Promote Cultural Identity and the Arabic Language" category is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Arabic language locally and globally, and to encourage innovation in projects that support cultural and linguistic identity in the region.
