ABU DHABI, 1st July, 2024 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre (AYC), has approved the appointment of Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, as Vice Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre, succeeding Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development.
His Highness praised the sincere efforts made by Shamma Al Mazrouei over the past five years to lead and build the centre's team, oversee the development of its programmes and initiatives at the regional level, strengthen its regional and international partnerships with various institutions and entities, and enhance its position as one of the most prominent youth work institutions in the Arab world and the region, especially in the field of initiatives concerned with capacity building and skills acquisition, as well as strengthening the link between youth with the Arabic identity and language and positive citizenship values.
Sheikh Theyab underscored the significance of the role that Dr. Al Neyadi will play in building on the achievements of the Arab Youth Centre, benefiting from his experience as one of the young models who presented a bright image of the potential of Emirati and Arab youth, and the importance of working on the vision of the UAE's wise leadership in building human beings, transferring best practices to serve the empowerment of Arab youth wherever they are, and increasing their contribution in various fields of developmental and humanitarian work.
The Centre has announced an ambitious vision in its five-year strategy that seeks to revive hope in the hearts of young people by celebrating creative people in the Arab world, supporting the youth research movement, implementing many programmes and initiatives concerned with skills, supporting the personal and professional development paths of individuals through an intensive series of training activities and specialised forums, working to increase youth awareness of their responsibilities towards serving their homelands, linking them to opportunities through the use of data and specialised studies, and engaging them in providing innovative solutions.
